Colors
Gesand is almost entirely neutral so mail content carries the color. Use semantic tokens such as bg-card or text-muted-foreground; never raw values. Every token has a light and a dark value.
Surfaces
The app frame sits behind everything. Background holds the main pane, cards and popovers float above it.
Content and lines
Foreground for primary text, muted foreground for metadata. Borders stay hairline-quiet.
Brand
Ember orange is reserved for the one main call to action of a screen, such as sending or signing in. Favorite marks starred mail.
Status
Only for meaning: failures, completed actions, warnings and priority. Pair color with an icon or text.
Avatars
Senders without a photo get a stable tint picked from their address.
Charts
A grayscale ramp for usage and volume charts; highlight one series with brand when needed.
